Fighting Irish looking to continue reign as Stanford’s daddy. (Notre Dame short pregame)

Our Notre Dame Fighting Irish are hosting the Stanford Cardinal, and we are going to be running it back with the blue jerseys. I believe that Notre Dame will be able to go out and get Marcus Freeman is his win in the blues. What better time than continuing our 3 game winning streak over Stanford.

I’m fully expecting this game to smash the over. Drew Pyne has been reliable beyond all my expectations. He has only stepped up to answer the call for us. We can’t expect him to go out and begin playing like a Heisman candidate, but he has allowed us to put onto him the expectation of responsible game management. He’s rocking an 80% completion percentage. However short his throws, he’s still making the throws he’s being asked to.

Chris Tyree’s ankle has been whispered about heading into this one. That’s the beauty of a three headed monster, you can rest one and allow the other two heads to keep attacking. I’m looking for the run game to have a day against an absolutely, abhorrently poor rushing defense. Stanford’s ranks towards the bottom in college football in the run game. That’s bad news for a Notre Dame opponent if I’ve ever heard it.

Pressure from our defensive front is always key, and this is no different. Our defense has been allowing less than impressive teams to score. I’m looking forward to seeing our meanest dogs to line up and take it to a beaten, broken, and battered Stanford Cardinal front line. I can’t see this Cardinal squad possessing the gumption necessary to hang with Notre Dame for 4 quarters.

Look for Notre Dame’s offense to continue to air the Michael Mayer show. We know it’s going to him. They know it’s going to him. Yet, nobody can stop him. After the initial slow start, Michael Mayer has continued his campaign as the most dominant tight end in the nation. He is an absolute GAMEBREAKER. Give him the rock and let him work. Results are speaking for themselves.

Notre Dame is Stanford’s daddy. I don’t see any way their offense can keep up with the Notre Dame Irish offense if Drew Pyne is at the very least competent. It may be a high scoring game in this one, but Drew Pyne can get with Michael Mayer enough to open up the flood gates for the defensive game.

With an over/under of 53.5 I’m looking for this game to go way over. I’m fully expecting a Notre Dame trouncing of Stanford, but I also expect the Irish to give up at least 2 TDs in this one. Look for the ball to be moving down the field, with Notre Dame ultimately finishing their drives far more competently. As a 17 pt favorite, I’d still be taking the Irish. If I’m pulling a score out of my very uninformed, and uneducated butt, I’d say Notre Dame 42 – Stanford 20.

Just wanted to keep this one short and to the point. Look for your Irish to go out and take it to the Cardinal. As we so often do. Here’s to Marcus Freeman and the Boys in Blue showing up and winning one at home.

Play like an absolute Champ,

Down with the Cardinal!
