Moon Knight to be the “first legitimate Marvel character-study since Iron Man” per Oscar Isaac

“The idea of getting back to ‘handmade’ films, character studies… I was desperate for that feeling,” revealed Isaac on his decision to join the MCU exclusively to Empire Magazine. “It felt ‘handmade’…And it’s the first legitimate Marvel character-study since Iron Man.” “I thought, ‘Maybe I can hijack this thing,'” continued Isaac. “‘Maybe this is the chance to do something really…nutty on a major stage.’” Drawn to the complexities and turmoil his character experiences with dissociative identity disorder, Isaac shared, “What I love most about this thing is that it’s an exploration of a mind that doesn’t know itself. A human being that doesn’t know his own brain. I found that really moving: what the mind is capable of as far as survival. But the workload was massive: the technical challenge of embodying these different characters, physically, the way I manifest my body… It required a lot of energy.”

Oh Hell yeah! This is all awesome to hear out of Oscaar Isaac prior to the release of Moon Knight next month. This show looks to offer something totally new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The introduction of the mystical was done by Dr. Strange, but I think Moon Knight will introduce the darker side of the mystical and cryptic. I had heard a rumor that the program streaming on Disney plus would be an introduction to the side of mystical that would be scarier, and more classical monsters, with Mark Spectre rumored to be taking down werewolves in this show.

The comments of Isaac regarding the character-study aspect, while they seem so pretentious I want to crawl out of my own skin, they do also get me excited for what Moon Knight will ultimately be. I love Oscar Isaac talking like, “this isn’t your normal Marvel movie, its ART!” Dude don’t blow smoke here, you got offered a bag and a half and you took it. Same thing you did for X-Men.

All that being said, the Iron Man comparison gets me very excited for what’s to come. When he says that Iron Man was a true character-study, I couldn’t agree more. When we see Tony Stark confronted by what his flippant nature has overlooked within his company. We saw him go through his heights, his lows, and then his redemption. We see his motivations at each point throughout the movie, and we see how those motivations can shift when confronted by the fruits of his selfish behavior. This ride was awesome over the course of a single movie. If this is a character study over the course of a season that allows us to dig much deeper into a character’s rationale and motivations. Which will be important considering our main character has dissociative identity disorder with 3 different identities vying for control. It will be an interesting study because we don’t know if we will even be seeing what the other 2 identities of Mark do while in control. If we only ever see 1/3 of what Mark’s physical body is up to, it will be cool to see how the motivations of the other 2 identities are expressed!

This is going to be great. The introduction of any new Marvel character is exciting. But the concepts and psychology of this hero will provide something new to build on. Much like any other Marvel character I fully expect to see him in future installments of the MCU. Marvel probably already has the roadmap laid for the next 15 years but I really hope the roadmap is laid out so we do see Moon Knight move from this series, into a role in the Blade movie, or into a Dark Avengers movie with him, Blade, and Black Knight.

Moon Knight looks to be another great addition to the MCU. I’m not only interested in seeing this character introduced but also new and dynamic concepts and ideas with the Egyptian mythology throughout. I’ll be for sure watching when it drops March 30, 2022.

Pepsi Halftime show and Lil Dicky’s Quartertime show Reviews

It’s the one and only…

Go head on over to NFLs YouTube to check out the show.

This show was so freaking great!

Set design was stellar. The neighborhood was out for this show and the stage presented that. Really cool nod to Los Angeles urban culture throughout. Who doesn’t love Snoop Dogg. Not a single person. Martha Stewart gave him the stamp of approval for the white woman demographic. And who gives a shirt what some Ignorant racists may thing. This music speaks to anyone under the age of 50 and it’s here to stay.

As the first Hip Hop half time show I feel like they were really tame here just so as to not burn any future potential there. Which is smart and safe. A good move I’d say. Still just an awesome show top to bottom. Great stroll down memory lane of Hip Hop during my formative years.

Awesome getting to see 50 Cent drop down a la his breakthrough music video. Anyone ripping my boy saying he look bloated and sound old… to you I say let’s see how you look performing your banger at the Super Bowl halftime show 20 years after you dropped that shirt. Fuq outta here.

50 ladies and gentleman

Best entrance for sure goes to Kendrick Lamar. That was trippy and his freaking choreography game is next level. And it’s apparent in all of his videos as well as being on full display throughout his performance here.

Eminem. While his entrance looked like it was to be grander than it was presented on the show, he still killed it. Lose Yourself is an alltime go to banger. That song doesn’t miss.

Just really wish each of these guys had more time. Each of these artists (except Mary J. Blige, sorry) could carry a halftime show themselves. Should have had 2 of them. I mean Eminem and Kendrick alone is so awesome and each of them would have had more time to really get into and perform. But again the 5 artist thing may have been a way of helping break hip hop into getting to do this more often.

All in all not the greatest show of all time but pretty great. I’d say still behind Prince and Bruno Mars in my mind. Yeah sure, call me soft for the bruno mars call, but when he was channeling the ghost of James Brown I was all in! Shirt was fire!

God Lose Yourself is the best isn’t it.

LIL DICKY’S GOPUFF QUARTERTIME SHOW

Lil Dicky is an absolute genius. On every level. Music. Comedy. Drama. Business. Marketing. Dudes the whole package. That’s my review. Just really more of an observation.

Eminem, Dre, Snoop Dogg. Kendrick Lamar and MJB’s Super Bowl will be the best since Prince in the Purple Rain.

The 2022 Super Bowl is finally here and this year’s halftime show performance is setting up to be one for the ages. Dr. DreSnoop DoggEminemMary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar will take the world’s biggest stage and perform at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime showSuper Bowl LVI will air live on NBC and Peacock on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.

-NBC Sports

So here we are. Super Bowl Sunday! Only beat by Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving if you ask me. While many have chosen to root for either Joe Burrow or Matt Stafford come Sunday, there are 30 out of 32 fan bases just watching from the outside. What makes this game so awesome to everyone in America? The pageantry, the grand scale of everything. It’s the best. America at its finest and I will throw hands if you think otherwise.

Dr. DreSnoop DoggEminemMary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar

This will be the best show since Prince at the Super Bowl in Miami 07. Colts Bears. We all know how that went don’t we.

Let’s go down the lineup.

Dr. Dre

NWA. The Chronic. No more needed. Educate yourself you dunce.

This guy’s would be one of Dan Carlin’s GREAT Men of Hip Hop. (Shout out Hardcore History). He is as influential as they get. From the music your listening to. To what your listening to them on (Dr. DRE) started Beats and sold it to Apple.

Snoop Dogg

Effortless cool

I’m so pumped for a new generation to witness and appreciate SNOOP DOGG for the skills he has as an artist. People can argue his music ain’t the greatest but the vibe you get from seeing snoop on TV of just effortless cool and unrelenting chillness that seeps through his TV appearances is the foundation of all his work. Gin and Juice is the shit. I was even down with most of the Snoop Lion album. “Good Good” is still great from that one

Kendrick Lamar

Ooooooohhhh this gets me pumped. “good kid, m.A.A.d. city” is like 3rd greatest album of all time in my mind behind Cudi’s “man on the moon” and “Runaways” by the Killers. Those are at least the 3 most important to me id say. Kendrick burst on the scene just as I was entering college and I have to say it was perfect timing. His music captures an attitude of “bring the bullshit. I’m gonna push through and come out ballin on the other end”. This guy was Pushin P before there was P to be pushed.

URBAN DICTIONARY:PushinP

Halle Berry?… or Hallelujah?

Even after that incredible debut he dropped the Grammy winning and often argued greatest rap album of all time. “Damn” and although Don Cheedle may very well have been on one of Epsteins plains I need him to not be a creep. Love when Kendrick barks back. Awesome.

Bars. Bars. For days.

Mary J Blige.

Not my jam really. But im here for seeing how the rest of the guys can work off her and use her singing ability throughout the performance.

And last… Eminem.

Say what you think in the comments below, but I think Eminem is the single most talented rapper out there. I mean other artists make bigger hits and have bigger songs (NOT MANY!!!), but no rapper has had me stop listening mid song because he just said something or laid such a line that I had to stop in awe and appreciate what I just heard. I mean “Lose Yourself” is something I still use to this day before anything needing a little pump up. Just had to storm into a dealership to dispute a warranty on our car and you best believe I’m channeling my Lose Yourself persona in that moment!

The single most insane showcase of rap skill, other than Lil Dickey’s Sway Freestyle may be Eminem in “Rap God” The shear audacity of Rap God Alone is an absolute spectacle. If you’ve never sat through this song you absolutely need to put on your best cans and really listen to it. Incredible.

When he hits that 4 min mark and begins just goin at speaking at like 14000 words a minute I just am in awe. Eminem is the best. Owning Rap and owning the spaghetti game now too

This show is going to be huge. It’s going to be incredible. I’m excited to see if they get any guests to perform as well, what with their already being 5 artists.

“1883” Thoughts on episode 7, “Yellow Lightning Hair”

I fully expected this episode, being number 7 and all, to be a pretty tame filler episode. The start of this episode pointed towards this absolutely being the case. Boy, once it got going, this episode STAYED GOING! So I just want to post here weekly my thoughts following each episode of Paramount+ exclusive “1883”

First major thought of this episode is Elsa needs to slow her roll and maybe take a little chastity break. She is losing it, her emotions be all over the place. Throwing vibes to each and every hombre that comes across our intrepid travelers. She may want to slow down, Eeevvveeerrryyyybbboooodddyyyyy knows how quickly gossip can spread throughout a wagon train. Tale as ol’ as time right there.

That tornado absolutely truck sticked the wagons. So insane how wind can just shred through stuff that easily. I have been bitching about that break in the release of these episodes. I’m wondering if the devastation in Kentucky following those tornadoes led to Paramount delaying the release so this episode in which several lives are decimated by a twister was played so quickly following the terrible aftermath of the Kentucky Tornadoes.

If you didn’t notice that is the same actor from Yellowstone. Pretty awesome that they can show that his lineage came across the Dutton’s lineage even miles and miles away from where the events of “Yellowstone” take place in the present of this shows universe. His character really stepped up to the plate, even with Elsa being so emotional unhinged it seems this guy plays it cool. That’s really the extent of my thought. This native american cat was one cool SOB. Absolutely swoops in to save the girl from dirty ol’ bandits, save the day, and ride off to slay some more tail down the road I guess.

All in all, great episode here!

When Sam says “So I Killed him and took it”. Chills People. Chills.

Netflix’s “Murderville”, a weird and sometimes uncomfortable exercise in improv

I had no expectations going into this one. Based on the photos alone, I was in. I stan Will Arnett. “Flaked” on Netflix was cut at the knees far too soon. But, based on the photos and not seeing a single trailer I had assumed it was just a murder mystery sitcom. BBBBOOOOYYYYY was I wrong. What I thought was a typical formulaic sitcom was actually a wild improv exercise 6 episodes long.

The show follows a single case each episode centered on Will Arnett’s detective character, Terry Seattle. Seattle takes on a different celebrity partner in each of the six episodes. The kicker is that the guest has no access to a script and must improv their way through the whole episode while simultaneously solving the murder themselves at the end of each episode.

While, I don’t know if what I was watching was entertaining, I have to say I didn’t look away. It’s not that I couldn’t, I just didn’t have anything else going on and this was able to keep my attention enough I suppose. Where the show fails is when certain guests are unable to buy into the improv and the ridiculous situations presented. There are times when the guest really drops the improv ball, and when that happens the entire show loses its tempo and just becomes a bizarre viewing experience.

Have to say Marshawn Lynch really held his own in that second episode. He came to play and him having fun definitely translates.

If you’ve got absolutely nothing else to watch. Murderville is entertaining enough. Just go to the episode list and select a guest that you think you may enjoy. Otherwise, it really ain’t anything special.
